Efficient Power Measurement and Analysis, Part 1
Power-supply designers face growing pressure to achieve 90% or higher conversion efficiency, driven by longer battery life in portable devices, the IoT, and demand for lower-power, 'greener' products. Many designs now replace silicon FETs and IGBTs with GaN or SiC switching devices. As always, time-to-market pressure keeps pushing test speed upward - while accuracy must remain very high.

PPM-Level Current Accuracy with Fluxgate Sensors
A fluxgate sensor measures weak magnetic fields through the nonlinear B-H relationship of a high-permeability core driven into saturation by an alternating field. The core acts as a 'gate' through which the flux is modulated, inducing a voltage. Measuring the field produced by a current gives an indirect current measurement.
