History

HIOKI began as a manufacturer of electrical meters in the mountain city of Ueda and grew into a comprehensive instrument maker. The company introduced generations of clamp meters and insulation testers that became standards in the electrical trade, and later built strong positions in power-quality analysis, component impedance measurement and battery evaluation — an area where its BT356x series became a de-facto standard for EV battery inspection.
