Pico Technology, based in St Neots near Cambridge, UK, pioneered PC-based oscilloscopes. Founded in 1991, the company turned a computer's processing power into test instrumentation — first via parallel ports, today via fast USB and Ethernet — and now offers deep-memory scopes, mixed-signal analysers, data loggers and automotive diagnostic kits used from university teaching to EMC and power-electronics labs.

History

Pico's early ADC-based PC scopes proved that small, affordable instruments could deliver serious capability. The company progressively raised performance through the ADC-200, PicoScope 3000/5000/6000 series and the flex-res TA3000 families, adding arbitrary waveform generators, MSO channels and software analysis. Its automotive PicoScope line became the standard in vehicle NVH and ignition diagnostics worldwide.
